I would think such a low risk investment with a decent yield would be attractive at this time.

The shares have certainly been volatile for what should be a steady performer. The fall of 8% today indicates how little buying is going on. I suspect a decent yield from a lowish risk portfolio will eventually have attractions but not in this market and not before investors realise that buying Govt bonds on low yields is not going to be that profitable

I have been looking at 3in, HICL and BBPP - all have suffered recently, and trading at significant discounts to NAV. While todays interims look encouraging, 3in appears to have much higher equity-type investments in its portfolio - IMO this could heighten the risks of a wider discount (just look at some of the current discounts to NAV on some PE investment trusts - many at 50%). Of course, 3in offers a reasonable yield, and projects with more predictable cashflows (but private equity IT yields come close, and have more potential for capital gain once discounts narrow). Any comments?

Am I correct in thinking these will qualify for the FTSE index? If so, I would expect some buying ahead of the June review, when they look set to enter the FTSE250 index.

If you like gearing the warrants (3INW) could be worth a look. They traded at about 14p on their first day, currently about 20p.

Main 3i group has not been a bad investment - this also looks interesting.

Raised 700m at the bottom of its 700m to 1.3bn range at 100p a share.

Also issued warrants, exercise price 100p, expiring in 5 years from listing. 3inw

It intends to build a diversified portfolio of equity investments in entities owning infrastructure businesses and assets with an initial focus on Europe, North America and Asia.

All comments and especially broker info/targets welcome.
