Apple vs Microsoft - the battle heats up, again!

The battle is about to get a lot more interesting (and lucrative) for tech giants Apple and Microsoft

Investor's Champion has assessed the potential longer focus of the two tech giants, which are sure to be integral to the lives of many for a long time to come.

I like to compare Microsoft to Apple. Microsoft has OS, phone OS, produces some computer hardware and Xbox. that is pretty much it. Apple produces all of it's hardware and a lot of software, including computer and phone OS. Everything that comes from Microsoft camp is pathetic. Xbox is probably the best they make. Yet, Microsoft spends so much money on OS development. Apple offers OS for free and spends less money on development. The product is of unbelievable quality. You get a picture.

Since dipping below $24 in August, MSFT has had a very good run to $30.80 especially for such a large company. Today I have placed them with a stop-loss of $29.57.

This old titan continues to prove a worthy investment since last April, so much so that I don't even bother posting about it. Now that is what I call a low risk, sleep easy investment. The next step is breaking through resistance at $30 something it has not done since early 2008.

My investment in MSFT since 1/4/11 is up over 10%. Easily beating the performance of the Nasdaq and DOW, which have managed a 1.7% & 2.6% respectively over the same timeframe.
