I've been told there won't be a trading update because there isn't anything unexpected to add, and because of the other things going on in the country that didn't see the need for it.

The progressive interim dividend is going to be announced in January.

So overall I'm more than happy, they must be making enough profit to keep with the dividend agreement as planned.

Not exactly the most stunning set of recent results and it's not a rocket growth company. But, even with an increasing bad debt provision and still low single digit % cover at that, it's still a well managed company with clear strategy and they execute risk well.

Trading on one years revenue and ridiculously low PE, it's a profitable company and pays a divi.

Does seem a tad low to me??

Share price seems to be on the up
I don’t like the fact that it looks like according to note 30 on the accounts the 90 day + arrears have gone through the roof which is a sure indicator of bad debt to come.

Also they want to be able to buy shares though the company. That indicates they think it is hugely under priced. I'm hoping them buying shares will also increase the price

Looks like they may be considering a change of name?

Big chunky buys today. Wouldn't surprise me if it's someone building a holding.

A few director buys, not huge amounts, but I'd rather see them buying than selling.

Anyone any ideas why this is up about 6% today?

On reasonable volume and against market trend.

Mmmmm.....perhaps someone(s) knows something, completed four months into its FY2020.

Not complaining :)

Commenting on the Group's performance, John Newman, Non-executive Chairman, said:

"I am pleased to report that the Group has delivered a further year of robust performance and growth."

I think it was the Outlook statement in the June TU which spooked the market...

Trading Update -

Outlook

In January 2019, strategic and operating plans were announced for the next phase of the Group's growth through to the financial year ended 31 May 2024 including adding scale through both organic growth and carefully selected acquisitions in order to build a lending portfolio of approximately £350m. In line with these stated intentions, the Board has agreed to make further investments in sales and new business personnel, to simplify its Asset Finance operations and to rationalize the various businesses in the Group into a single, nationally recognized, brand. The Group will also continue the upgrading of its IT and communications systems to deliver online offerings, improve processing times and make its infrastructure more robust, enabling it to deliver future growth.

These actions will result in certain additional costs being incurred in the year ending 31 May 2020 some of which are non-recurring. The Group's sound funding position enables these actions to be taken and will support the investment required to deliver the growth plan. The Board is mindful of the continuing macro political and economic uncertainty and, therefore, taking these internal and external factors together, expects the financial year ending 31 May 2020 to be one of investment and consolidation with future benefits being derived from these actions in ensuing years.

completely different to the last results when there was some doom and gloom about the future and consolidation

Nice set of results and new year off to a good start. Too cheap on a P/E of less than 5 and trading at more than a 50% discount to a strongly growing NAV.

The recent TU was a bad read wrt anemic growth compared to how OPM has performed and expectations of performance.

Although the share price seems to be an over reaction currently there is a lot of market talk for a recession with notice being paid to inverted bond yields.

If there is a recession, with an already self inflicted EU issue on the cards, the revenue on here could decline significantly.

Also, the bad debt provision has crept up, that would definitely move up further with a negative economy and delinquent debts coming onto the books.

A few ifs and maybes, but possibly this is what the market is seeing at OPM.

I thought it looked cheap at 30p, yet here we are already, cheap gets cheaper, I'm not inclined to try and be clever on this one and fight a market direction, happy to watch from the sidelines.

And FinnCap put out new research yesterday, starting coverage of OPM with a Buy recommendation and a target price of 60p. Fat lot of good that did !

Not sure what is going to change the mood and lead a recovery in the share price other than the obvious bid potential here. Now a square share on a p/e of four and yield at 4% and at a share price well below half of the book value. This is getting quite ridiculous.

I have a forecast of £8.2M pbt for May 2020, 6.6p eps.
At 27p 1PM has a market cap of £23M, (BV £48M) a p/e of 4!
The June trading statement was, I thought, positive, but emphasising they needed to consolidate the recent acquisitions into a single brand. Some people seem to have read this as a profit warning.
They have a good track record, tripling turnover since 2010 and make a healthy margin.
They are cautious about the economy (and now we have Captain BoJo on the bridge!) but we risk having the company stolen unless they can get the share price back to a rational level.

Agreed - I would not be surprised to see a 50 - 60p bid within 6 months
