Siemens AG (SIE.XE) is preparing a bid for Dresser-Rand Group Inc. of more than $6.5 billion in a move to counter a competing effort from Sulzer AG (SUN.EB), Bloomberg News reported Friday on its website, citing people familiar with the plan.
The supervisory board at Siemens could vote on submitting a bid of more than $85 share for Dresser-Rand at a meeting on Wednesday, one person told Bloomberg. Sulzer earlier this week confirmed it is in talks with Dresser-Rand about a "potential transaction."
