Northfield Capital Corporation-In Memoriam, William O. S. Ballard (1946-2014)

It is with heavy hearts that we, at Northfield Capital Corporation
("Northfield") (TSX VENTURE:NFD.A) mourn the passing of Mr. William Ballard.
Bill passed away on March 14, 2014. Bill served as a Director of Northfield for
13 years and also served as a member of Northfield's audit committee. 


Not only was Bill a valued investor and Board member, he was a long-time friend
and confidant of the entire team and especially its president, Robert Cudney.  


"As a colleague, Bill was enthusiastic and courageous. He was not a man to whine
when projects were faced with challenges. He was a great supporter and constant
presence throughout the past 13 years as a board member and even more as a
friend. His love for the mining business had its roots in his childhood love for
rocks of all descriptions. He was truly excited about investing and being a part
of building mines in Canada." Robert Cudney continued, "As a friend, he was
without equal: completely candid (some would say blunt). His nature was generous
to a fault. Bill had a wicked sense of humour, which made the sometimes
difficult path of investing easier to negotiate. Every flight to the mining
sites were filled with the aroma of his ever-present deli sandwiches. Bill was a
unique character in every sense of the word. There will never be another like
him. We celebrate his accomplishments and deeply mourn his passing. He will
never be forgotten."
