To date, seven samples have been assayed from various oil/gas wells operating within First Lithium's MAIM permitted lands. All of the samples below were taken from the Company's most southerly block of claims, in the area of Fox Creek.

Several other well targets could not be sampled due to temporary shut ins waiting for higher gas prices to resume production. One sample was rejected by the lab with too high a volatile content to assay, presumably due to elevated hydrogen sulphide levels.
A report by the Alberta Research Council (Bulletin 62; Hitchon et al.,1995) discusses the region as having potential for very large resources of Lithium (Li) within formation waters of the Devonian aged Beaverhill Lake (aka Swan Hills) Formation and the Woodbend (aka Leduc) Formation. The above results confirm that highly anomalous Li levels are indeed present, in addition to significant concentrations of potassium (K), boron (B) and bromine (Br).
The formation waters sampled are from aquifers in 7 wells that are distributed across 40 km from 3 different producing oil and/or gas pools. Four samples were collected from formation waters associated with wells producing gas from the Beaverhill Lake Formation aquifer in the vicinity of Smoke Lake. The highest concentration of Li was 73.5 parts per million (ppm) from well 14-24-060-19W5. The Beaverhill Lake aquifer in the area of Smoke Lake is more than 50 km in length and ranges from 3.5 to 8 km wide.
A single formation water sample was collected from one of four producing gas pools in the Woodbend Formation in the vicinity of the Berland River. Formation water from Well 1/1A 06-19-059-20W5 yielded 93.2 ppm Li. Hitchon et al. (1995) report that a well from the same pool approximately 3.7 km northwest of the well sampled by First Lithium yielded 120 ppm Li.
The Company also sampled formation waters from two wells centered on the Beaverhill Lake Formation aquifer in the vicinity of Raspberry Lake. The highest concentration of Li obtained was 31.5 ppm Li. Hitchon et al. (1995), report that two wells in the Raspberry Lake area yielded 115 and 130 ppm Li from formation waters out of the Beaverhill Lake aquifer.
Negotiations for further sampling of a number of other high priority Devonian aquifer targets in the region of Fox Creek and Valleyview is in progress. The results will be reported on as they are made available. The Company is currently in the process of determining the most promising target aquifers and their wells for bulk sampling. First Lithium has been approached by two private companies for such bulk samples, in order to determine the most appropriate and effective methods for their individual multi-element brine processing technologies. The Company's goal is to effectively measure the viability of onsite multi-mineral processing facility(s) in Alberta, where extensive infrastructure already exists to potentially host such an operation.
