------------------------------------------------------------------------ Highlights - Hole SD-08-34 cuts additional massive sulphides and confirms eastern extension of La Rata Vein. - La Rata #1 cuts 157 grams per tonne (g/t) silver (Ag), 2.2% lead (Pb) and 9.9% Zinc (Zn) over core length of 2.4 metres (8 feet). - La Rata #2 cuts 382 g/t Ag, 6.8% Pb and 12.7% Zn over core length of 6.6 metres (22 feet). - Hole SD-08-34 intersects a wide polymetallic stringer stockwork zone stretching over 50 metres from 675 to 725 metre depth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ECU Silver Mining Inc. (TSX:ECU) ("ECU") and Golden Tag Resources Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:GOG) ("Golden Tag") are pleased to report further significant results from La Rata Zone at the jointly held San Diego Property in Durango State, Mexico. Initial assay results received from drill hole SD-08-34 are very encouraging.. In particular, this hole cut additional massive sulphides with significant grades in silver, lead and zinc (see Table 1 below) and confirms the ongoing continuity of La Rata Vein. The results from the La Rata Vein continue to demonstrate sulphide grades that are among the richest within the San Diego Project area. This drill hole intersected significant mineralization that includes several intercepts grading over 500 g/t silver, over 8% lead and over 20% zinc (see Table 2 below). Furthermore, the La Rata Vein has been intersected at a relatively shallow depth of approximately 300 metres below surface. Table 1 - La Rata Zone --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From To Width Silver Lead Zinc Silver Eq. (m) (m) (m) (g/t) (%) (%) (g/t) --------------------------------------------------------------------------- La Rata #1 376.68 379.05 2.37 157 2.19 9.89 524 La Rata #2 389.00 395.55 6.55 382 6.81 12.65 958 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Further at depth, drill hole SD-08-34 also intersected a wide polymetallic stringer stockwork zone stretching over 50 metres from 675 to 725 metres. This section is believed to represent the depth and eastern extension of a wide mineralized zone with stringer-style mineralization as well as massive and semi-massive sulphide veins that was intersected in drill holes SD-08-22 and SD-08-33 during our previous Phase 3 program. The mineralization in this stockwork zone has been visually determined to consist of mostly narrow (approximately 1 cm) stringers with a few semi-massive to massive veins reaching up to 25 to 30 cm (true width). As well, a richer section was intersected over 4.20 metres from 685.90 to 690.10 metres that includes 50 to 55% sulphides occurring within stringers and replacement patches of the white marble host-rock. Assays are pending. Table 2 - La Rata Zone Intercepts --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sample From To Width Silver Lead Zinc Silver Eq. These were 26.60 g/t Ag per 1% Pb and 31.21 g/t Ag per 1% Zn. Cautionary Statements and Additional Information: Readers are cautioned that until a prefeasibility study is completed, there are no assurances these latest mineralized zones will be economically viable. True width for La Rata #1 is approximately 60% of core length and 40% for La Rata #2, All reported analyses were performed by ALS Chemex accredited assay laboratories of Guadalajara and Vancouver. Ms. Kateri Marchand, P.Geo. a "qualified person" within the meaning of NI 43-101, prepared the technical information disclosed in this news release. ECU Silver Mining Inc. is focused on the exploration, development and mining of gold, silver and base metals at its Velardena District Properties in Durango, Mexico. Golden Tag Resources Ltd. is a junior exploration company actively exploring for high grade gold and silver deposits at the San Diego silver-lead-zinc project in Durango State, Mexico; the Aquilon gold project in James Bay, Quebec; and the McCuaig gold project in Red Lake, Ontario. Statements in the release that are "forward-looking statements" are based on current expectations and assumptions that are subject to risks and uncertainties. Actual results could differ materially.
