The Silverclaim Lake property is the location of the historic Cotley/Shane- Darragh/Cameron mine site. During its production history, the mine produced some 63,470 oz of silver, representing more than half of the roughly 110,000 oz Elk Lake Camp silver production. Silver mineralization appears to be associated with the differentiation of the Nipissing Diabase intrusive. This has given rise to characteristic high grade silver veins accompanied by significant silver tenors within the diabase host rock.
Previous diamond drilling programs identified two vein systems striking roughly north -south in the area of the mine workings. This year's program, nine holes totaling 750 metres, is currently a shallow program, designed to test depth extensions to the 75 metre level and strike extensions to the 25 metre level. Assay results will be released as they become available. A second phase of drilling will follow compilation of this program's data.
