                                 Board Changes


Hartford Group today announces that Finance Director Colin Lewin is to leave the
Board in order to focus on other business interests.  Colin joined Hartford
following the acquisition of Jamies Bars plc ("Jamies") on the same part-time
basis that he had been previously employed, with the express purpose of
overseeing the successful integration of the two companies.  With this process
now complete, the Board requires the appointment of a full-time Finance
Director.  Mr Lewin had worked with Jamies from 1991 until its take-over by
Hartford in September 2002.



Following Colin's departure, Urvashi Parekh, currently Financial Controller and
Company Secretary of Hartford, has been appointed to the Board as Finance
Director.  Urvashi joined Hartford in September 2000 as Financial Controller,
having previously held the same post at Prestbury Group plc from July 1998 until
joining Hartford and at Columbus Group plc from 1993 - 1998.  Ms Parekh is a
qualified certified accountant and holds no other directorships.



Commenting on the Board changes, Stephen Thomas, Chairman of Hartford, said:

months and wishes him continued success with his accountancy practice in Marlow.
  His commitment to the business, both Jamies and Hartford, during challenging
times has been excellent.  At the same time, I am delighted for Urvashi Parekh.
During her time with Hartford she has shown admirable commitment and skill.  Her
detailed understanding of the business is second to none and I look forward to
this continuing in her expanded role."
