                  COMPLETION OF ACQUISITION OF NORTHERN RACING
                                        

Having received shareholder approval at its Extraordinary General Meeting held
on 10 October 2003, The Chepstow Racecourse PLC ("Chepstow" or "the Company") is
pleased to announce that it has today completed the acquisition of Northern
Racing Limited ("Northern Racing"). The admission of the consideration shares
and the readmission of the existing ordinary shares of Chepstow to AIM occurred
at 8.00 am today.

Sir Stanley Clarke, the Chairman of Chepstow, commenting on the acquisition
said:

"I am delighted that Chepstow has successfully completed the acquisition of
Northern Racing. I believe that the combination of Chepstow with Northern Racing
creates one of the leading UK racecourse operators and will significantly
enhance the Company's commercial position and better enable it to take advantage
of the opportunities that the evolution of the UK horseracing industry may
present."
