ClearSign Technologies Corp. said Exxon Mobil Corp. told it to put on hold the testing of ClearSign Core process burners to be installed at the Baytown, Texas, refinery.
ClearSign on Friday said the rationale for the notification was there is now insufficient time for Exxon to engineer the burners' inclusion during the targeted 2022 refinery turnaround.
"We were informed late yesterday on a call that Exxon Mobil was putting this project on hold," ClearSign Chief Executive Jim Deller said. "This news was a surprise and obviously disappointing."
