UnitedHealth Group Inc. (UNH) on Wednesday said its board raised the quarterly dividend by 20% to $1.08 from 90 cents.
The new payout, equal to $4.32 a year, represents an annual yield of about 1.79% based on Tuesday's closing price of $240.76, up from about 1.5%.
The health insurer said the increased dividend is payable June 25 to shareholders of record June 17.
