The One SC Fund will use UnitedHealth Group’s donation to support various organizations providing relief and response efforts in the affected areas.

“We thank UnitedHealth Group for its generous support of South Carolinians in need,” said Gov. McMaster. “Many of our neighbors and friends have been displaced by flooding from Hurricane Florence and, unfortunately, the worst is yet to come. I encourage those who are able to please visit www.OneSCFund.org to help support this effort.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the people of South Carolina and all the people affected by Hurricane Florence,” said Garland “Scottie” Scott, UnitedHealthcare CEO of the Carolinas and Georgia. “UnitedHealth Group is honored to work with Gov. McMaster and through the One SC Fund to support our communities in need.”

In addition to the donation, UnitedHealth Group is deploying health care delivery capabilities including mobile clinics providing health care directly to people living in the affected areas, emergency kit and prescription drug donations, and a free emotional-support help line.
