Alvin ISD selects Munis for financial, human resources management

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a multi-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with Texas’ Alvin Independent School District (ISD) for Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The agreement includes hosting services, support and related professional services.

District leaders wanted to replace their legacy financial and human resource management systems with an integrated financial information system to help better manage their general ledger, budget, procurement, and payroll. The district conducted a competitive review to find a system that could meet current needs and grow with the district far into the future.

Alvin ISD selected core Munis applications, including financial, human resources and payroll management. Munis will help Alvin ISD share data across departments and eliminate manual processes. Munis also provides powerful data analytics and reporting functionality that district staff can use to further enhance the accuracy of financial forecasts and long-term strategic planning.

The chosen SaaS model allows Tyler clients to free up IT staff to focus on other projects; it also provides built-in redundancies to help prevent data loss and downtime.

With 25 campuses and about 2,800 employees serving approximately 22,000 students, Alvin ISD is the largest school district in Brazoria County, which is on the Gulf Coast south of Houston.
