City and school district to use Munis solution to simplify daily operations

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a seven-year software-as-a-service (SaaS) agreement with Tennessee’s Madison County and Jackson-Madison County Schools for its Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The agreement includes hosting services, related professional services, maintenance and support. The county and school district utilized the existing National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) contract in procuring Munis.

“We needed to upgrade our ERP system and Munis was a good fit because it provides enhanced reporting functionality that will benefit the county and school district,” said Mike Nichols, finance director at Madison County. “Munis delivered as a SaaS model will allow our staff to focus on other projects, while knowing that our ERP system has built-in technical security.”

The county and school district selected multiple cloud-based Munis applications including financial management, human resource management, employee self-service and content management. Tyler clients have successfully relied on its cloud-based solutions for more than 14 years.

“Tyler’s Munis SaaS solution is a great fit for counties and school districts because it doesn’t require an investment in infrastructure, and our solution is ready to use off the shelf without customization,” said Chris Hepburn, president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “We look forward to partnering with Madison County and Jackson-Madison County Schools to help them further improve daily operations.”

Madison County has a population of 99,000 and its county seat is Jackson, located 75 miles northeast of Memphis. Jackson-Madison County Schools has 27 schools and 13,000 students. It is the second largest employer in Madison County with more than 1,100 staff and 800 support staff.
