Mesa Public Schools now one of hundreds of successful Infinite Visions implementations

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) announced that Mesa Public Schools in Arizona has successfully gone live with Tyler’s Infinite Visions® financial and personnel management solution. The implementation was on time and within budget and the school district is already experiencing benefits from the solution.

“A core project team of individuals in the main areas of the financial and personnel management solution – finance, purchasing, human resources, information systems and audit services – ensured that the implementation process was successful,” said Jami Hovet, chief financial officer, Mesa Public Schools. “The team was led by the Assistant Superintendent of Business and Support Services and by the Director of Financial Services, who served as the project manager. They ensured all milestones were met, and reviewed every process to streamline business operations and ensure the most efficient system when moving to Tyler’s software platform.”

In preparing for their transition from a 25-year-old financial and personnel system, Mesa Public Schools took several key steps ahead of the Infinite Visions implementation, which helped set them up for success, including:

  • Allocating resources to adequately establish district objectives and project priorities
  • Setting up a district project manager specifically for the implementation
  • Building a communications plan for project participants, stakeholders and the board of directors
  • Establishing a steering committee for project oversight, guidance, and change management
  • Including a post-implementation and operational transition as the final project phase

“We were extremely impressed with the steps Mesa Public Schools took to ensure a successful implementation,” said Dane Womble, president of Tyler’s Local Government Division. “They were clear with the district’s goals and were flexible throughout the process. We’re proud to have helped them create efficiencies with their financial and personnel management solution that will serve them for many years.”

With the help of Infinite Visions, Mesa Public Schools is now operating on stable, supported software and infrastructure. By implementing Infinite Visions, they have eliminated previously redundant systems and staff time that was spent on inefficient, manual processing.

Mesa Public Schools is the largest public school district in Arizona with approximately 65,000 students. The district includes 55 elementary schools, nine junior high schools, six high schools and several alternative schools. Tyler’s solutions continue to expand their presence in Arizona and are live in more than 200 school districts in the state. Tyler’s Infinite Visions is also used in 14 county education agencies in Arizona.
