City chooses Tyler’s Munis ERP solution for first-ever citywide HR and finance system

Tyler Technologies, Inc. (NYSE: TYL) has signed a contract with the city of Bend, Oregon, for Tyler’s Munis® enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution. The agreement includes software licenses, related professional services, maintenance and support.

Bend, the fastest-growing city in Oregon, selected Tyler’s Munis ERP solution as its first-ever integrated human resources information and finance system, replacing a 25-year-old, green screen, legacy financial solution. The city held a competitive review process that included product demonstrations and client reference checks before choosing Munis.

“This project is critical to the operation of the city and service to our customers,” said Bend City Manager Eric King. “Munis will allow us to revamp, streamline and automate the city’s daily transactions for finance, human resources and work order management. Bend is also taking advantage of Tyler’s change management expertise to prepare us — at both the individual and department level — for the new business processes enabled by Munis.”

In addition to Tyler’s change management services, Bend selected a citywide suite of Munis applications, including financial management, human resources, content management, utility billing, and employee and citizen self-service. Bend has a population of about 81,000 and is part of the fifth-largest metropolitan statistical area in the state.

“By selecting Munis, Bend is receiving a sound software investment with continued access to evolving technology through our evergreen philosophy, which provides regular and significant, yet manageable, software enhancements without an additional relicensing or service fee,” said Chris Hepburn, senior vice president of Tyler’s ERP & School Division. “We’ll work hand-in-hand with the city to maximize their use of Tyler’s systems for the best possible return on investment and we look forward to a long partnership.”
