State Street Names Rogers Chief Operating Officer

State Street Corp. (STT) appointed Michael F. Rogers as its chief operating officer and also promoted two other company veterans to its management committee.

Mr. Rogers, 57 years old, joined the Boston trust bank in 2007 following its acquisition of Investors Financial, where he had served president for six years. At State Street, Mr. Rogers had several leadership positions including head of its investment servicing business in the Americas and its global research and trading business. He has been a member of the bank's management committee since 2010.

A company spokeswoman said Mr. Rogers's appointment isn't part of a succession planning program.

In addition to current responsibilities, Mr. Rogers will have overall accountability for information technology, global operations and State Street's global exchange business.

State Street promoted Gunjan Kedia, 43, to its management committee, the company's most senior strategy and policy making group. Mr. Kedia heads State Street's investment servicing capabilities in the Americas for mutual fund, insurance and institutional clients. Also named to committee was Wai Kwong Seck, 59, head of State Street's global services and global markets businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
