Enterprise software maker SAP AG (SAP.XE) Thursday confirmed that Robert Courteau, president of the company's important North America region, has left the company after little more than a year in the position.
Courteau left at his own request, an SAP spokesman told Dow Jones Newswires, without providing more details on the manager's departure.
In his latest role, Courteau was responsible for all of SAP's business operations in the U.S., which is also home of rival Oracle Corp. (ORCL), and Canada. He was appointed North America president in January 2011 to succeed Robert Enslin, who back then was promoted to SAP's president of global sales.
Enslin will take over Courteau's responsibilities on an interim basis, according to the SAP spokesman.
Nomura analysts said the departure is probably not a signal regarding SAP's first-quarter performance. "SAP has a recent history of strong performance in the Americas region," Nomura wrote in a note.
