John Cummings Joins Mercer’s Executive Rewards Practice in Chicago from Aon Hewitt

John Cummings has joined Mercer as a Principal in the Executive Rewards Practice, the firm announced today. Based in Chicago, Mr. Cummings will provide consulting services to management and Boards on the design and implementation of executive compensation programs in support of business strategy. He will report to Amada Giordano, Partner and Talent Business Leader for Chicago.

Mr. Cummings has 25 years of experience in executive and broad-based compensation consulting, including corporate governance, director compensation, executive pay studies, peer group determination, annual and long-term incentive design and accounting, securities and tax regulation consulting. He also has extensive global experience, having spent over ten years as a consultant in Europe. He joins Mercer from Aon Hewitt, where he was an Associate Partner in Executive Compensation, specializing in the design and implementation of global compensation plans for multinational companies. Prior to Aon Hewitt, Mr. Cummings held leadership positions with a number of prominent consulting firms, including Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson) and Hay Group. He also worked for William M. Mercer from 1989-1993, before it was renamed Mercer.

John earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance with honors from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. He is a Certified Compensation Professional at the World-at-Work Association.
