MetLife, Inc. (NYSE:MET) today announced that it has hired David J. Rothenberg as managing director and global head of the Institutional Client Group of MetLife Investment Management (MIM). Rothenberg will be focusing primarily on institutional sales.

Rothenberg joins MetLife from Russell Investments, where he most recently served as managing director of Americas Institutional Sales and Service. He also previously served as managing director of Russell Implementation Services. Prior to that, Rothenberg held various roles in institutional sales at Nomura Securities International, Barclays Global Investors, Investment Technology Group, Inc. and Instinet, Inc.

“We are pleased to welcome David to the team at MetLife Investment Management,” said Joseph Pollaro, chief operating officer of MIM. “David brings a deep understanding of the markets and relationship-management skills, leveraging more than 20 years of institutional sales experience. He will be an excellent addition to MIM’s institutional sales team.”

Rothenberg holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management information systems from Boston University.
