KB Home Debuts First Apple HomeKit-Enabled New Home Community

Today, KB Home (NYSE: KBH) unveiled the nation’s first HomeKit-enabled community at its Promenade at Communications Hill in San Jose. KB Home is the first homebuilder to make a HomeKit smart-home package available to homebuyers. Along with its introduction at Promenade at Communications Hill, the Apple HomeKit package will also be available for buyers at KB Home’s Magnolia at Patterson Ranch community.

A model home showcasing how KB homeowners can simply and securely monitor and control Apple HomeKit-compatible accessories, such as lighting, door locks and other security features, and more, conveniently from their iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, is now open at Promenade at Communications Hill.

Apple’s Home app delivers a simple and secure interface to manage HomeKit-integrated home automation products in one place, allowing homeowners to connect and control their environment whether at home or away. For example, the Home app allows users to set customized scenes, such as “Leaving Home,” which could turn off lights, lock the doors, and lower the thermostat.

Designed with today’s tech-savvy buyer in mind, Promenade at Communications Hill offers convenient city living close to San Jose’s shopping, dining, nightlife and cultural attractions, as well as to the area’s major Silicon Valley employers.
