Enel SpA said Tuesday that its U.S. renewable subsidiary Enel Green Power North America started construction works for the Azure Sky solar and storage project in Texas, integrating a renewable energy plant with utility-scale battery storage.
The Rome-based energy company said its subsidiary signed a power purchase agreement with home improvement retailer Home Depot Inc. which will procure electricity generated from a 75 megawatt portion of the project.
The project, situated west of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, includes a 284 megawatt photovoltaic facility with an 81 megawatt battery and should be operational by summer 2021.
