BERLIN--MTU Aero Engines AG (MTX.XE) will supply General Electric Co. (GE) with turbine parts worth about 4 billion euros ($5.5 billion), the German company said Thursday.
The parts are for GE's GE9X turbine program. The engine is designed to power Boeing Co.'s (BA) 777X long-haul airliner, which is slated to enter service around 2020.
MTU said it will assume responsibility for the engine's turbine center frame and take a 4% workshare in the engine program.
