Cedar Fair's flagship park, Cedar Point, in Sandusky, Ohio, took home the coveted title of "Best Amusement Park in the World" for a record 12th consecutive year. Cedar Fair also earned top billing for having the "Best Kids' Area" at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, for the ninth year in a row, while the new Prowler roller coaster at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, MO, was voted the "Best New Ride of 2009" in the prestigious poll. "Our commitment to providing our guests with world-class fun and thrills has never wavered," stated Dick Kinzel, Cedar Fair's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "In today's economic climate, families are looking for a fun and affordable place to spend their vacation and nowhere is that more possible than at any one of our Cedar Fair amusement and water parks." While Cedar Fair parks are known for their great family rides and attractions, they are also known around the globe for their incredible lineup of award-winning roller coasters. The Company landed 16 of its legendary coasters in the "Top 50 Steel Roller Coasters in the World" and "Top 50 Wooden Roller Coasters in the World" categories, with Cedar Point placing five of its steel coasters in the Top 25 and three in the Top 10! Last year, the Behemoth roller coaster at Canada's Wonderland was named one of the "Best New Rides for 2008" and earned a spot on the "Top 50 Steel Roller Coasters in the World" in its first year of operation.
