10:10 ET -- Walt Disney is one of the most mentioned companies in the U.S. across all news items in the last 12 hours, according to Factiva data. The entertainment giant said early Wednesday that ValueAct has agreed to back Disney's slate of board nominees at its shareholder meeting, while also signing onto a deal allowing Disney to share company information with ValueAct and consult with the firm on strategic matters. This development comes amid a recently renewed proxy fight with activist investor Nelson Peltz and his firm, Trian Fund Management. Also on Wednesday, Disney confirmed that Blackwells Capital plans to nominate three directors at the next shareholder meeting. Dow Jones & Co. owns Factiva. (susan.solan@wsj.com)
