-- Walt Disney Co. is pushing back against the National Football League, which is looking to charge double for broadcasting rights, CNBC reported.
-- According to an unidentified source, the NFL is talks with all four of its network partners, NBC, CBS, Fox and ESPN--owned by Disney--and it is hoping to complete its negotiations by March 17 before the start of the next league season, CNBC said.
-- Disney pays $1.9 billion annually for Monday Night Football since 2011, in some cases more than double what other broadcasters pay, and has already rejected paying a $3.8 billion price tag, the report said.
-- CNBC noted that the NFL requested the same pay increase for Disney, which pays more but is also asking for more, including doubleheader Monday Night games.
