Chevron Announces a Contribution of more than $400,000 to Mexico’s Earthquake Recovery Efforts

Chevron announced today a contribution of more than $400,000 ($7.6 million Mexican pesos) from the Chevron Global Community Fund and other Chevron divisions to assist with recovery efforts from damage done by the recent earthquakes in Mexico.

“Chevron makes every effort to support the communities where we operate, particularly in times of need,” said Evelyn Vilchez, country manager of Chevron Energía de Mexico, S de R.L. de C.V.

“As a company with expanding business operations in Mexico, we want to help communities in as they continue to recover and rebuild,” said Jose Parra, President of Chevron Combustibles de Mexico.

The commitment includes a $350,000 ($6.5 million Mexican pesos) donation from the Chevron Global Fund to support programs to be implemented in communities affected by the earthquakes.

Another $50,000 ($936,000 Mexican pesos) from other Chevron divisions were donated to the international organization Medical Bridges for the shipping of containers with medical equipment and medical supplies from Houston to Mexico. The supplies will be delivered to Topos, a non profit Mexican rescue team. Additionally, Chevron donated $5,000 ($94,000 Mexican pesos) to the Mexican Red Cross. Additionally, Chevron local employees continue volunteering in recovery efforts.
