SUGAR LAND, Texas, Sept. 19, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- CVR Energy, Inc. (NYSE: CVI), a refiner and marketer of petroleum fuels and majority owner in nitrogen fertilizer manufacturer CVR partners, LP (NYSE: UAN), announced today that Angela J. Dasbach will become the companies' vice president of corporate affairs, effective immediately.

Dasbach has more than 16 years of experience in corporate public relations and business news journalism. She joined CVR Energy predecessor Coffeyville Resources in 2004 as director of corporate affairs and has been intimately involved with all aspects of the company's corporate public relations, communications, advertising and community relations programs since then.
During her tenure, CVR Energy became a publicly traded company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, spun off subsidiary CVR Partners into its own publicly traded entity, acquired and grew a variety of additional business assets, and expanded revenues. Today CVR Energy ranks No. 477 on the Fortune 500 list of America's largest companies. CVR Energy and its subsidiaries have more than 1,100 employees.

Before that from 1996 to 2003, she worked various assignments as a business reporter and online journalist at the Kansas City Star, the Topeka Capital-Journal, the Business Journal of Kansas City and the Johnson County Business Times.
She holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from the University of Kansas.
