Developing Software for Electronic Warfare Systems That Helps Rapidly Identify Battlefield Threats

CACI International Inc (NYSE:CACI) announced today it has been awarded an $86 million task order contract to provide engineering and technical support to the U.S. Army’s Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Software Engineering Center (SEC). This three-year (one base plus two option years) task order was awarded under the CECOM SEC Software and Systems Engineering Services Next Generation (SSES NexGen) program. This is new business for CACI and expands the company’s presence in its C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) and Logistics and Material Readiness market areas.

The CECOM SEC’s mission is to ensure the highest level of software readiness for Army C4ISR and logistics systems. Under this task order, CACI will support the C3T Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT) in developing and fielding software that will be used in electronic warfare systems to help ground and airborne soldiers rapidly identify threats on the battlefield and support commanders across the full range of military operations.

With a track record of over 20 years of support for CECOM – including four previously awarded task order contracts under the SSES NexGen program – CACI provides in-depth knowledge of the customer’s environment and requirements that ensures successful and effective project execution. In addition to an experienced team of software developers as well as former warfighters and aviators, CACI brings partnerships with leading research centers that explore next-generation technologies. CACI also offers world-class credentials in systems engineering and software lifecycle support.

John Mengucci, CACI’s Chief Operating Officer and President of U.S. Operations, said, “CACI offers proven project management skills and recognized software credentials to provide the high-value software development and engineering solutions our Armed Forces need to ensure system readiness and an operational advantage for our troops.”

According to CACI President and Chief Executive Officer Ken Asbury, “This award on the SSES NexGen vehicle continues CACI’s record of success supporting the U.S. Army’s Software Engineering Center. As our fifth award on this contract, it demonstrates the Army’s confidence in our ability to deliver next-generation software that helps commanders make tactical decisions based on the changing warfighting conditions on the battlefield.”
