American Express Co. (AXP) card members will be able to split bills like restaurant checks with PayPal and Venmo users via the Amex app.
Users select a transaction, tap "Split It" and choose the contacts to receive a split request. An option appearing later this month will allow customization of the amount requested from each person.
In another agreement with PayPal Holdings Inc.'s (PYPL) namesake service, card members will be able to use rewards points to pay at "millions of U.S. merchants" that accept PayPal.
American Express said the companies plan to add new features for PayPal and Venmo users next year.
