Cinergy Recognizes Air Products With Overall Sustainable Supplier Award 


LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa., Dec. 12  /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cinergy Corp. - one of
the nation's leading energy companies serving 1.5 million electric customers and
500,000 gas customers in Ohio, Northern Kentucky and Indiana - has honored Air
Products with its Overall Sustainable Supplier Award for 2003. Air Products has
supplied liquid nitrogen and liquid and gaseous bulk hydrogen to Cinergy's power
generation facilities for more than a decade.

Presented by a Cinergy review committee comprised of environmental and other
specialists, the Overall Sustainable Supplier Award recognizes Air Products for
achievements in the areas of environmental improvement, social responsibility
and economic development.  As factors in its judging criteria, Cinergy
representatives cited Air Products' record of having the lowest safety incident
rate among large chemical companies for four consecutive years; strong results
from its environmental programs, including a 30 percent decline in incidents and
a 14 percent decrease in hazardous waste disposals in the last year; and steps
taken to centralize the company's security operations to protect Air Products'
employees and the communities in which it operates.
