Air Products and Chemicals said it has struck a $1 billion deal with the government of Uzbekistan and a state-owned company to buy, own and operate a natural gas-to-syngas processing facility in Qashqadaryo Province.
The natural gas-to-syngas industrial complex is an integral part of state-owned energy company Uzbekneftegaz JSC's gas-to-liquid facility, the company said.
Through the deal, Air Products will own and operate two large-scale air separation units, two large-scale auto-thermal reforming units, and a hydrogen production unit. The company will also supply oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas under a long-term, take-or-pay/fixed fee contract to Uzbekneftegaz.
Uzbekneftegaz will supply the feedstock natural gas and utilities and offtake all products.
