Air Products Aims to Increase Female Representation in Management Roles By 2025

Air Products on Tuesday gave its goals to further increase the percentage of females and U.S. minorities in professional and managerial roles.

The industrial gas company said that by 2025, it is looking to achieve at least 28% female representation in its professional and managerial population globally, and at least 20% minority representation in that same population in the U.S. These measures are increases from 25% and 17% representation from the company's 2020 baseline, respectively.

Air Products said it established these new targets following analysis of its employee metrics, future talent needs, industry benchmarks and peer companies. The company has more than 17,000 employees in more than 50 countries.

Air Products plans to share progress toward these goals internally and externally. In its 2020 Sustainability Report, Air Products published, for the first time, 2019 metrics on the representation of U.S. minorities, and added an additional level of metrics for females in executive roles.

Last month, the company sets its goal to reduce carbon dioxide emissions intensity by one-third by the year 2030.
