Cluff Mining PLC ("Cluff" or the "Company")

Allotment of shares to an employee

The Company announces that it has allotted 30,000 new ordinary shares of US$0.05
each to an employee following the exercise of options under the Company's
Executive Share Option Scheme. The allotment is subject only to the admission of
the shares to trading on AIM. Application for admission of the ordinary shares,
which will rank pari passu in all respects, has been made and admission is
expected on Monday 7 July 2003.
