Microsoft Corp. has agreed to buy networking technology company Metaswitch Networks, adding technology that will help network operators "advance the virtualization of their core networks and move forward on a path to an increasingly cloud-native future" as the industry moves to 5G.
A Microsoft blog post didn't state the deal price. Metaswitch investors have included Francisco Partners and Sequoia Capital.
