Here are some of the companies with shares expected to trade actively in Friday's session. Stock movements noted by ticker reflect movements during regular trading hours; premarket trading is specified separately.
American Express, Synchrony Financial, NextEra Energy and Air Products & Chemicals publish earnings today.
Inovio Pharmaceuticals: The drugmaker, along with Moderna and Novavax, said Thursday that it planned to develop a vaccine against the new respiratory virus originating in China. Inovio's shares rose 8.9% in off-hours trading.
Intel: Healthy demand for Intel's processors boosted sales for the company, according to its results, posted after markets closed Thursday. The chip maker benefited from a rise in personal-computer shipments and orders for chips to power data centers. Intel's shares rose nearly 6% in off-hours trading.
Broadcom: The company said Thursday that it had secured multiyear supply agreements with Apple Inc. to provide wireless components for Apple products into 2023. Its stock rose 2.3% in off-hours trading.
