--Alphabet Inc.'s Google is one of the main contenders to partner with Netflix Inc. on advertising, Ad Age reports, citing people familiar with negotiations.
--The streaming platform could partner with more than one advertising technology company to have a more open platform. Magnite Inc. has emerged as a key potential supply-side partner, the report says, citing people familiar with Netflix's considerations.
--People familiar with Netflix's strategy say the company would be talking with the ad world as it marks its first semi-official presence at the advertising portion of the Cannes Film Festival, Ad Age reports.
--In April, Netflix said it is exploring a lower priced ad-supported version of the platform to boost its subscriber base after its first quarterly subscriber loss in more than a decade.
