2015 GMT - Increased scrutiny into Facebook, Google and Amazon has investors worried about the possibility these tech companies could be forced to break up. News Monday that US regulators were opening the door to investigations into the companies raises concerns over compliance with antitrust policies, a central element of a company's corporate-governance profile. Another concern for investors is the uncertainty surrounding these companies' future ability to grow through acquisitions. In addition to potential investigations by the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission, the FTC recently announced a special task force examining competition in the technology marketplace and the House Judiciary Committee will launch an investigation into competition in digital markets.
