Amazon.com Inc. (AMZN) secured rights to broadcast live Premier League soccer matches in the U.K. for the first time starting from the 2019-2020 season, as BT Group PLC (BT.A.LN) secured rights to a further 20 matches a season.

Amazon said it will have exclusive rights to 20 matches a season under a three-year deal that will include the first December mid-week round and the festive Bank Holiday round. The games will be available on Amazon's Prime Video in the U.K., the U.S. company said.

BT said it will pay 90 million pounds ($120.7 million) for the rights to a further 20 Premier League matches for every season from the start of the 2019-2020 one. These new matches add to the 32 Saturday matches BT won earlier this year, the company said. The total cost for 52 games a season will be GBP975 million over three years, BT said.

On Thursday, the Premier League sold the two remaining packages of broadcasting rights for the three seasons from 2019 to 2022. The other five packages were auctioned in February, when Sky PLC (SKY.LN) extended its rights to show the bulk of Premier League games through 2022 for GBP1.19 billion, securing 128 matches a season.
