Reversing direction, the pound slipped against its major opponents in pre-European deals on Wednesday.
The pound dropped to 1.3185 against the dollar, 1.2862 versus the franc and 148.19 against the yen, from its early highs of 1.3222 and 1.2887, and a 6-day high of 148.59, respectively.
The pound hit a 2-day low of 0.8959 against the euro, off its previous high of 0.8939.
The pound is likely to find support around 1.30 against the greenback, 1.27 against the franc, 147.00 against the yen and 0.91 against the euro.
