Prosus NV (PRX.AE) said Thursday that it has raised its cash bid for U.K. food-delivery platform Just Eat PLC (JE.LN) to 800 pence a share from 740 pence a share, as it declared its offer final.
Prosus, an Amsterdam-listed subsidiary of South African investor Naspers Ltd. (NPN.JO), said its offer values Just Eat at 5.5 billion pounds ($7.2 billion). The company has also extended the period to accept the offer to Jan. 10 from Dec. 27, but said the deadline won't be extended beyond that time.
Just Eat has twice rejected bids from Prosus, since the Amsterdam-listed company in October moved to challenge an agreed all-stock merger between the U.K. company and Dutch peer Takeaway.com NV (TKWY.AE).
