PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones)--Le spécialiste du diagnostic in vitro bioMérieux a annoncé vendredi avoir déposé auprès de la Food and Drug Administration (FDA), l'autorité sanitaire américaine, une demande d'accréditation pour son système rapide d'antibiogramme "Vitek Reveal", précédemment appelé "Specific Reveal".
"L'obtention d'une autorisation 510(k) de la FDA permettra sa commercialisation aux Etats-Unis et dans les pays reconnaissant cette autorisation", a indiqué bioMérieux dans un communiqué.
Le système rapide d'antibiogramme Vitek Reveal, développé par la société américaine Specific Diagnostics rachetée en mai 2022 par bioMérieux, est déjà disponible sur le marché européen. Il fournit un test de sensibilité aux antibiotiques phénotypiques en 5,5 heures en moyenne, permettant de choisir le traitement antibiotique dans la même journée pour les patients atteints d'un sepsis bactériémique, une infection fulgurante et dangereuse.
