| 29/5/2019 15:14 | I've said elsewhere that I'm surprised that more people haven't gone down the guild route with plus one. Enough threads on here have become, let's be honest, pretty nauseating, and a guild thread on stocks gives the founder the same 'controls' as subscription payers to advfn. They can moderate the threads, (including moderate 'blue' posters), and decide who can and can't be a member. They can also start threads on multiple stocks, and the threads are private to read, to guild members. Suspect there are a few reasons. Fear that they'd become ramp threads for example, maybe. In my experience that simply couldn't be further from the truth. Perhaps not many people have enough coins to start a guild (100), but for those who do, they then set the membership fee so it can be as low as one coin, or (I think) even less, enabling most people to apply to join. Also I think there's not much awareness of how the guilds work, and advfn could be more proactive in promoting them. However at least, it is a practical use of plus one coin, of which there are precious few! 100 coins sounds a lot but it's not exactly much in monetary value. | microscope | |

| 29/5/2019 12:36 | Looks like it, but what I don't get is that after all the effort that went into launching PLUS1 why so little effort is being put in now. They could do a few "competitions of the month" or let you pay 10% of your subscription price in coins, or reward the top 10 posts of the month or provide x coins a month for every month of continued membership, or x coins for every paying new member invite a friend. Lots of things really which could drive traffic on their website which would provide additional advertising revenue. All of which would fund the coins they give away. | cc2014 | |

There's a value in long term relevant posts being highlighted imo, sometimes things take a while. Also the business model of PLUS1 doesn't have much correlation to that of BTC futures markets etc wave or store of value. PLUS1 did really well late last year while BTC went nowhere. | m4ybe | |

If ADVFN gave a 50% reduction in the subscription price for those paying in PLUS1 then the price would skyrocket. There would be a reason to hold.
