14/6/2018 12:23 | football the ridiculous energy consumption and the madness of crowds (tulips) is the reason I dont do bitcoin. | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 11:48 | greg the grinch- last month the energy used for the cyber currencies was equivalent to all the energy used in Australia and New Zealand put together in a year so much for this green technology without all that paper recycling and metal coins. | football
14/6/2018 11:48 | Iceland has a population of 340k | jasperthemonkeygod
14/6/2018 11:46 | No need to send steelwatch but thanks for the offer. Is everyone aware of the amount of energy the blockchain system uses? An old figure places it as the same amount of electricity that Iceland (the country) uses. | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 11:32 | oh well glad it wasn't as bad as it might have been Greg :) Yes it's easy to confuse . and , Infact i've been told if you pay online in euros, they use a comma in some countries, so 10.50 is written 10,50 | microscope
14/6/2018 11:23 | Hardware Wallets: | noirua
14/6/2018 11:22 | Don't worry steelwatch I've just voted his post up by over 11,000 coins ;) | football
14/6/2018 11:19 | greg - post your wallet address here and I'll send you the 11.1 | steelwatch
14/6/2018 11:07 | :o) it was top on the list by a factor of 10, but looking again I think it was 11.100 and I mistook the , for a . based on the number of trailing zeroes. If this uses a true blockchain then some rougue miner stole my coins or there is a bug as I am still short a few coins. Couple of points here: Why the need to have so many trailing zeroes? expectation that in the future each coin wil be worth $10k? Change this so it is dynamic and has no trailing zeroes unless a coin is worth more than a pound or penny? Also put the £ value next to it? Re editing: Put an algo on that, that recognises edits that are spelling corrections: easy to do as make sure the edit only applies to misspelt words that are changed to one from a set that contains correctly spelt versions or those with the same meaning. ps thanks for the info :o) | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 11:01 | microscope I think you get the nail on the head and coins have been mistaken for the wrong amount | football
14/6/2018 10:52 | You sure it wasn't 0.0011110 Greg? Never seen or heard of a post voted up with 11,000 coins before, seems distinctly unlikely to me, it must have been quite the most amazingly wonderful post... Perhaps sharing it with us would make you feel better! :) Infact I've never seen anyone outside the faucet sponsors claim to have many more than a thousand coins.... ;) | microscope
14/6/2018 10:48 | greg, I believe that is the case... it makes sense... if a post has been voted up but then subsequently edited then how can the original voting be valid... otherwise posters could post something, get votes but then change the post to the complete opposite... eg 'Russia will win the world cup'.. gets changed to 'England will win the world cup'.. | sikhthetech
14/6/2018 10:26 | No it went from 11,110 ish to 0 directly after the edit. :o( | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 09:29 | greg the grinch - you're right about the coins in your wallet shouldn't disappear but coins that have voted up a post reduce overtime so it may have just been the time they got removed | football
14/6/2018 09:20 | I dont think it should be designed to lose the visible up-vote... unless that is another bug. | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 09:18 | I have 7.7 coins in my wallet.... the system has destroyed over 10k coins with a bug? I can see how the coins might be removed because I could edit it to change its meaning... ADVFN, I think you need to look at this because this is a serious flaw in the implementation. The post had over 10k. Any idea how to get my coins back? | greg the grinch
14/6/2018 09:06 | greg - if you were awarded coins for the post, they should still be in your wallet. All you should have lost is the visible up-vote. | steelwatch
14/6/2018 09:02 | greg the grinch - I noticed that a few weeks back and same reason as I edited a spelling mistake and all the coins on that post disappeared and have not come back. | football
14/6/2018 08:55 | I made this post hxxps://uk.advfn.com TERN greg the grinch 13 Jun '18 - 21:14 - 99930 of 100205 I had 10k coins but I edited it to correct a spelling mistake and now it has 0? Are the coins destroyed if you edit a post? Can I get them back? This is more out of curiosity because I dont think 10k has much value. TIA | greg the grinch
13/6/2018 23:31 | Hoping that the referral scheme for the exchange nets a percentage of the referred users trading fee hence my interest in cost of creating a faucet to promote. | dusseldorf
13/6/2018 23:27 | I'm also mining nicehash, though I mined 800 plus1 in the last couple of days. I have 3 rigs total 22 Nvidia GPUs. Nicehash grossing around £90-100 BTC weekly cost circa £70 in electricity - though only a couple of weeks ago it was £150 gross/week. | dusseldorf |
