vatnabrekk,

Would it be fair to assume that you can't find fault with my argument and that's why you choose to attack me personally instead?

Well written, JakNife. I would add that short selling to buy back cheaper is just the mirror image of pump & dump. They both prey on shareholders fears, but the real problem is that shareholders are too easily swayed and then too easily lose confidence.

An excellent summary of this vile practice Mike. I agree it should be stopped, especially for AIM shares.

There is a petition going around to make shorting illegal in the UK. It won't make your broker or the shorter very happy as they've made tidy amounts over the years. In case anybody is unaware of the shorting process it goes like this. The shorter borrows your shares from the broker, bank etc who is looking after your shares for you. He pays a fee for this. He then sells your shares, usually in significant amounts, in the hope of buying them back at a lower price some time in the future. If there is enough shorting then there is a downward pressure on the share price and the price drops. Often on the stock market, as you know, investors will follow a trend, either up or down, so more selling comes in. At some point the shorter might buy back your shares at a good profit and return them to your broker. You will be unaware that your shares have been used this way but you will be aware of the drop in the value of them.

Shorter's and brokers say that the practice improves liquidity and sorts out the weak companies but that is just spin on what is essentially an immoral practice. Smaller companies like IES need continuous funding until they reach profitability. Attacking them by shorting means that they have to dilute shareholdings more because the share price has been lowered deliberately. So not only has your share holding lost value it is hit with double whammy by having excess dilution. How this practice can be allowed is beyond me and it's about time it was stopped.

How long do nuclear builds take? 15 years?Unless these Rolls Royce SMRs get funded and fast-tracked.

I would have thought they should be building nuclear power plants instead of gas fired power stations.

Time for IES to pounce on Govt plans to build more gas power stations; on the basis of no storage solutions for renewables? Sounds like a marketeers dream though I have my doubts about their ability, with their current staff, to have the right impact

Since 5 March 2024 trading as been steadily increasing on a dialy basis with 614,000 shares traded on 8 March 2024. While it may mean anything it is interesting with the time frame of 4 to 6 weeks.

I thought it was 4 to 6 weeks from the 26.02.24 for a strategic investor

Bought about £800 today. Cannot buy anymore. I'm feeling pretty damn lucky at present. Consequently, I will be highly disappointed if I don't see a strategic investor and at least 500 MWH of orders by next week ;)

In the comparison with lithium two things strike me, apart from those stated previously.
First, on-going insurance costs of a fire risk lithium site compared to a safer vanadium site
Secondly, local opposition to a fire-risk lithium site compared to vanadium.
I've bought more.

That being the case why is arguably the leading vfrb supplier in the west with no debt only worth £45 million...

It's a conundrum for sure ..

It's not helping the news vacuum on lodes which they won 11 months ago but hangs on finding a commercial partner for the other 50% of the money and the last news was that the "preferred partner" still hadn't made their investment decision ..considering this contract is supposedly to be delivered this year and those monies incorporated in projected cash this is very concerning.

Trading back down as I guess no reason to buy ahead of the strategic partnership deal, unless it is done at a premium. Company must be reasonably confident of getting funds as recruiting a Principal Research Scientist, PHD with 15 years electrochemistry experience etc

Dilution?the share is .25p!!! No dilution required it’s as cheap as chips. That’s way it’s at this price now, market makers driving the price down for a large investor!! Guess who!!
