Received 11.2p per share on the 8th of Dec. They are trying to reclaim more tax in America. If successful could payout upto a maximun of 1p but not before October 2009.

Not at all. Still interesting, I think, but a bit of a mixed bag so far (since 8 Feb). RNO up a fraction; SPT up a fraction; Cosalt up 40%; SMG down a fraction.

Fwiw, I think the market is probably running out of steam, or may do soon. Some of the companies that the turnaround specialists Hanover/Sherborne are involved in still look interesting to me: RNO, SPT, CSLT, and SMG.

thanks poacher...every little helps...i m nearly back to breakeven although its so long ago i cant really remember...!
ps i am having trouble finding reasonable value in this market having missed bt and stagecoach in the last 6 mos....do either of you have any suggestions?

Good news at last 6.25p interim dividend paid end of January. They still hold funds of £1.7million after taking account of future costs and expenses. Last payment will be made Sept 2008 after US tax position is made final.

Sorry, can't help because I haven't had to face that problem. (I hold these in my Sipp which doesn't pay tax.)

bizarre, thats why i havent contacted them....can i ask how this has been treated in terms of personal tax?i filled in encap in the liquidations part of my tax return,but can anyone explain how it is treated eg if you pay 1.20/share and receive distributions of 108 pence so far,how is the benefit/liability calculated? thanks in advance.

Since our last report we have recieved interest of £148000.
Have recovered another £39000 from MPAC/AROC.
Recieved £735000 from IRS in USA.
Additionally, EnCap is holding $1.8million dollars in the USA.
In the future i.e. September 2008 they could distribute somewhere between 0-14p.
Liquidation costs are now over £300000 absolutely ridiculous the cheapest hourly rate being £70 and the dearest £390. Well only 2 years to wait.

This is becoming a nightmare. Apparently the US internal revenue service does not ''close out'' Encap until September 2008. They hold £2 million but cannot payout until the tax position is sorted perhaps not before September 2008.

Another report! We have received £730000 tax refund from USA. However because the fund is liquidating there could be more tax due in the USA. They have agreed tax in the UK except for the income received during liquidation.
They currently hold around £2000000 after taking into account tax and expenses.There are 23220726 shares and they will report again by June 30th.
