TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Burford Capital Limited ("Burford"), the leading global finance and asset management firm focused on law, provides an update in connection with the number of Burford's ordinary shares of nil par value ("Shares") held as treasury shares.

On July 3, 2023, a total of 2,712 Shares held in treasury by Burford were transferred out of treasury to satisfy vested awards under the Burford Capital 2016 Long Term Incentive Plan.

In accordance with the UK Financial Conduct Authority's Disclosure Guidance and Transparency Rule 5.6.1, the issued share capital of Burford is 219,049,877 Shares, of which 89,947 are held in treasury after giving effect to the transfers described above. The total number of voting rights in Burford, excluding treasury shares, is therefore 218,959,930 (the "Figure").
