Pittards plc announces that the Pittards Employee Share Ownership Trust
purchased 98,789 shares in the Company at a price of 52 pence per share on 28
March 2003.  The Pittards Employee Share Ownership Trust is now interested in
1,069,869 shares in the Company, representing approximately 4.84% of the issued
share capital.



The main potential beneficiaries in the Trust are executives of the Company
awarded shares under a restricted share plan and long term incentive plan and
include JWW Pittard, JH Buckley, RH Hankey and SR Johnson and R Paisley, who are
directors of the Company.
