BEN BAILEY PLC ("the Company")

Ben Bailey Plc announces that on 2 December 2003 it issued and allotted 59,870
ordinary shares of 10p each in total to Paul Russell, Chief Executive, pursuant
to the exercise of share options.  The options were exercised at 38.5p per
share.

Application will be made for the shares to be admitted to the Official List of
the London Stock Exchange. It is expected that dealings in the new shares will
commence on Monday 8 December 2003.
